D-STAR ARRIVES IN FEDERAL WAY In October 2007, the
Federal Way Amateur Club received a very generous donation of an
Icom D-Star repeater system. The donation included digital
repeaters for 2-meters, 70-centimeters, and 23-centimeters.
The donation also included a handheld radio, mobile radios, and
mag-mount antennas.

In
April 2008, the club's new D-Star system was on the air.
Shortly after becoming operational, the D-Star repeater was
connected to the internet via an internet gateway, allowing the
club's D-Star system to converse with other D-Star repeaters
located throughout the world.

FEDERAL WAY
D-STAR ON THE MOVE The
Federal Way Amateur Radio Club is currently engaged in a project
to relocate the club's D-Star repeaters to the City of Federal Way's
Community Center. This new site will provide much better
coverage of the City of Federal Way and the surrounding area.
We could use your help. The club needs to purchase a
number of materials to support the move. Materials include
Andrews heliax coax cable, connectors, and cable mounting
brackets.
