Downtown Federal Way FM Repeaters

147.040 MHz with a plus 600 KHz offset, PL=103.5 Call sign: WA7FW,
ON 4/26/2024, THE REPEATER WAS RESTORED TO OPERATION, BUT WITH AN ANTENNA THAT IS MOUNTED ON THE SHACK (ABOUT 20 FEET). THIS WILL BE THE CONFIGURATION FOR THIS REPEATER UNTIL A NWE ANTENNA AND COAX IS INSTALLED SOMETIME IN 2024.

442.950 MHz with a plus 5 MHz offset, PL=103.5 Call sign: WA7FW

442.925 MHz with a plus 5 MHz offset, DCS 036 Normal. Call sign: WA7DR (Digital Coded Squelch)

The repeater site is located about one mile to the NW of The Commons Mall in Federal Way. All repeaters have analog FM capabilities, with WA7DR also having D-STAR capabilities.

All repeaters above are D-STAR repeaters. D-STAR compatible equipment is required to use these repeaters.

Repeater News

WA7FW @ 147.04 MHz
UPDATE 4/28/2024: The WA7FW analog repeater, 147.04 MHz was restored with a reduced coverage area. This will remain in affect until a new antenna and coax is installed in 2024.

WA7DR @ 442.925 MHz (D-STAR and analog FM)
UPDATE 4/27/2024: The WA7DR D-STAR repeater was moved to within the city limits of Federal Way (same location as the club's 147.04 MHz repeater) and it is fully operational in both FM and D-STAR mode.

In order to use the FM Repeater, you will need to configure your radio as follows:
442.925 MHz with a + 5 MHz offset, DCS 036 (NN or Normal Normal)

Please feel free to use WA7FW Modules, A, B, C and D. Module E is for conducting a local Echo from your radio and the repeater.

REFLECTOR 035 NEWS:

UPDATE 4/28/2024: Since 11/2023, REF035 has been online and running non-stop. The reflector started out on the original bare metal computer for a few months, but in 1/2024, it was moved to a datacenter in Seattle.

We continue to host the WA7DRE morning net Monday through Friday at 0700 Pacific time and Saturday Nights at 1900 on Module C and things have been going well.

WA7FW Module C is connected to REF035 Module C - 7 days a week, 24 hours a day. If you wish to unlink the repeater and connect to another reflector, feel free to do so. The reflector cannot be unlinked during the morning and Saturday night nets.

REF035 support Modules A, B, C, D and E. REF035 is provided by the Federal Way Amateur Radio Club and the WA7DRE has requested to use Module C for their morning and Saturday night nets.

Below is the schedule for the WA7DRE Net:

WA7DRE will be hosting their morning net REF035C
Every weekday morning at 7am pacific

8am mountain 9am central 10am eastern

Every Saturday EVENING at 7pm pacific

8pm mountain, 9pm central, 10pm eastern

In the event of a failure, the backup reflector is XRF035C

DStar Information

First and foremost, if you plan to use DStar as it was intended, that is to communicate through the Repeater's gateway to reach Reflectors located around the globe, you must register your callsign at D-STAR Gateway System (REGIST). Otherwise, you will only reach other DStar operators within the footprint of the Repeater's Range.

Reflector 035 - Washington State Reflector

A reflector is similar to a conference bridge. It allows numerous DSTAR stations, and local & remote repeaters to talk to each other at the same time.

REF035 was restored in October of 2023 and is fully operational. See information about the reflector throughout this webpage.
